I'm being challenged!

I'm being challenged this week for sure. First I had an attack of the piles, then dental pain, then I stopped the caffeine, which is still beating on me, and yesterday I knocked my back out. How do I rise above this I wonder? The tendency is to escape from the now given how bloody uncomfortable it is, but mindfulness is where I'm supposed to be going. Now I see just how far on this journey I have to go.

  1. Dear ZF, Sounds tough, but also true. No need to rise above it, sit with it all, befriend and fully appreciate it all. Pain and uncomfortable sensations are powerful tools for staying present also. Keep on, keep going on!

  3. It's bloody hard though. Taught for two hours this afternoon through the pain and the hightening summer heat and humidity, left the classes feeling not too bad then got on to the road and was like a lunatic in the snarling traffic. I've a zazenkai starting at 5am in the morning and I hope my back is up for it, for it's my favourite part of the week.

  4. You're welcome. Of course if the pain comes from an injury or illness then those things should be addressed! :-)
